EVERY credit to young Blackpool actress Amy Edwards,

The 21-year-old has won a place on the three-year National Diploma course at the highly-rated Guildford’s Performance Preparation Academy.

There’s one small snag – she needs £8,000 for each year’s fees.

But, undeterred, Amy has gone all out to find sponsors and people willing to donate.

She put together a brochure which she is sending out to various businesses throughout the town, as well as sticking up posters, using Ebay to sell her paintings (another skill of hers) and doing everything she generally can to encourage people to help her.

Amy, who lives near Stanley Park, has been involved in musicals and plays since she was 12, starring in West Side Story at the Grand Theatre last year and playing Annie at the Charter Theatre.

She said: “I just want to perform and like most others young actors, would love to make it to the West End.

“But it’s not easy – I recently went to an audition where 2,000 people went for a part.

“Doing the course at Guildford would mean everything because it’s run by people from the top drama schools.

“I’ve got a place, which is brilliant, but unless I’m able to raise the funds then I won’t be able to go.”
