The annual Fylde’s Got Talent competition is back and performers from the FY postcode area are now being invited to showcase their talents.

The winner or winners will be invited to perform on the same stage as the headline act for the Sunday night of this year’s Lytham Proms Festival.

The competition, now in its fourth year has got bigger and better each year and the new organisers, Cuffe & Taylor are hoping that this year will be no exception.

Last year’s winner Lucy Ella Smith has gone from strength to strength, performing to 5000 people at the Lytham Proms Festival Weekend 2011, headlined by Boyzone.

A spokesperson for the new organisers Cuffe & Taylor said: “We were approached by Fylde Borough Council, the previous organisers to see if we wanted to run the competition otherwise it was not going to happen this year.

“We ran something similar last year called Fylde’s Got the Rock Factor, and the winning band – Next Stop Atlanta – won the opportunity to perform as the warm-up act for Status Quo.

“We are doing something different on the Friday night this year and this negates the need for a warm up act, which meant we couldn’t stage another rock contest so we were more than happy to pick up the gauntlet of this well established talent competition to showcase the brilliant local talent and give the winner the opportunity to perform on the Sunday night at Lytham Proms.”

The competition is looking for all types of performers – singers, dancers, musicians, magicians and comedians.

All encouraged to take part – whether soloists, duos, bands or groups.

If you think you have what it takes then visit www.lythamproms.co.uk to apply.

Auditions will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish Centre, St Annes on Saturday March 10 starting at 10am (audition time slots will only be given to those who apply online beforehand).

Space will be restricted so participants are encouraged to stick to their audition slot times.

The final will be held at Lytham’s Lowther Pavilion on Sunday April 22.

Tickets are priced £10 plus booking fee.

All money raised from the competition will be donated to the Donna’s Dream House charity in Blackpool.
