This summer sees the return of the Hot Ice Summer School to the Blackpool Pleasure Beach Arena for its second year – with a whole host of courses from the basics of skating up to more challenging ones offering nationally recognised skating qualifications.

The Hot Ice Summer Academy boasts four different courses, with expert tuition for both beginners and more experienced young skaters in a range of classes designed to increase fitness, confidence and offer an ice cool way to fill those summer holidays.

Skating stars will be on hand including top Olympic competitors and choreographers as well as two times winner of ITV’s Dancing On Ice, Poulton’s Dan Whiston and Hot Ice star and professional Dancing On Ice skater, Katie Stainsby from South Shore who will take skaters through all the moves.

Commenting on the return of Hot Ice Summer School, Pleasure Beach managing director and director of the annual Hot Ice Show, Amanda Thompson said: “Ice skating is very much back and more popular than ever before.

“I am so pleased to offer these great ice skating classes with the stars from Dancing On Ice and the Hot Ice Show who will be passing on their amazing skills to a new generation of skaters.”

As well as taking to the ice, skaters are given off-ice classes designed to improve on-ice performance, a backstage tour of The Arena, tickets to see the latest Hot Ice Show with its 28 international performers and packed lunches on each of the four day courses.

The Arena has been offering ice skating classes ever since 1937 and has produced countless ice skating professionals who have gone on to skate in productions and TV shows around the world. It is hoped that the latest summer school will help inspire a whole new set of talented skaters.

Classes run from July 25 up to August 12. Prices are £40 for a full one day course and start from £150 for four full day courses. For more information on the Hot Ice Summer School contact The Arena on (01253) 341707 or visit www.icearena
