Hit comedy contest Show Me The Funny comes from Blackpool on Monday.

Jason Manford hosts the stand-up comedy competition with the star prize of £100,000, a DVD deal and the chance to headline a nationwide tour.

It’s the penultimate episode of the show and the five remaining comedians – Tiffany Stevenson, Ellie Taylor, Stuart Goldsmith, Dan Mitchell and Patrick Monahan – will compete for a place in the live final at the Hammersmith Apollo, being screened on Thursday, August 25.

In Blackpool the comedians must perform a gig at the Pleasure Beach.

To prepare, they are tasked with taking over the entertainment at two Blackpool B&B’s, before creating five minutes of brand-new material that must keep the Pleasure Beach audience entertained.

After performing the comedians must face the panel – comedian Alan Davies, comedy critic Kate Copstick and guest judges, North Pier summer stars Cannon and Ball, who will decide which three comedians make it to the final and which two will be sent home.

The Blackpool episode airs on Monday at 9pm on ITV1

The three remaining comedians will perform in front of an audience of 3,000 and be judged by Alan Davies, Kate Copstick, Bob Mortimer, Ross Noble and Johnny Vegas. The final airs on Thursday August 25 at 9pm on ITV1.
