International illusionist Christian Farla will be casting his spell over audiences at the Pleasure Beach this summer.

The Dutch magician has announced a full summer season of daily shows combining magic and variety at the theme park’s Horseshoe bar, opening on Friday, July 3.

He’ll be making a return to the resort after appearing at last weekend’s Blackpool Magic Festival at the Winter Gardens.

An award-winning illusionist, Farla’s been described as ‘spectacular and original’ and is regarded as one of the world’s best.

In America, his unique brand of magic has seen him labelled a ‘rock and roll guy with a Las Vegas attitude’ and last year he wowed judges with his theatre audition for Britain’s Got Talent getting four ‘yeses’, although he didn’t make it to the live semi-finals.

Pleasure Beach managing director Amanda Thompson said: “We are delighted to welcome the talented Christian Farla to the Horseshoe this summer and we are certain he will be a hit with the audience.

“His unique brand of magic has stunned audiences across the planet and now he is to take Blackpool Pleasure Beach by storm.

“He was a big hit in front of the judges on Britain’s Got Talent and I’m sure he will get some big reactions from his amazing show.”

Christian has won the prestigious Merlin award for Magician of the Year, Champion de Europe and the Merlin award for the Magic Show of the Year, among other

Born in Rotterdam, he began performing tricks when he was just eight years old.

By the age of 12, he won the Dutch Junior Championships for stage magic and took the decision to become an illusionist.

He’s done Las Vegas shows with Siegfried and Roy, and David Copperfield was blown away by his act – so much so that the pair have become friends and have even exchanged tricks, some of which will be seen at the Horseshoe this summer.

Christian Farla’s show runs until Sunday, August 30, with performances at 7.30pm from Sunday to Friday at 2.30pm on Saturdays.
