Following several sell-out UK tours – including an appearance at Blackpool Opera House – and best-selling stand-up DVDs, multi-award winning Welsh comedy wonder Rhod Gilbert is back on the road with a brand new live show: The Man With The Flaming Battenberg Tattoo.

He’s back at the Opera House on Saturday, June 16, and tickets at £25 each are on sale now from the Winter Gardens box office, by telephone at 0844 856 1111 and from www.blackpoollive.com.

A regular on Live At The Apollo, and with his own BBC One show Ask Rhod Gilbert, he’s currently one of Britain’s hottest comedians.

His stand-up rants on life’s minor irritations are legendary, but this year, he’s a more mellow fellow altogether. He’s now so laid-back he even let someone tattoo a Battenberg on him.

Will the new, chilled-out Rhod finally get his girl and live happily ever after, or will it be microwaved baked potato for one again? Could it be the Mr Angry of comedy as you’ve never seen him before?

A first-class comedian with a string of accolades, he was a finalist in the Channel 4 So You Think You’re Funny competition in 2002. He then graduated to being the winner of the Gift Of The Gag 2003 and BBC Comedy Awards 2003 competitions. In recent times he’s been seen on TV’s Mock The Week.
