Enjoy a rare opportunity to experience Die Walküre, one of Wagner’s most well-known works from the revered Bayreuth Festival opera when it screens at the ODEON Blackpool tonight at 6.30pm.

This second opera in Wagner’s epic Ring of the Nibelung cycle, tells a powerful story of adultery, incest, revenge, and sacrifice.

It is perhaps best-known for the music used in the opening of Act III – The Ride of the Valkyries – famously used in the iconic film Apocalypse Now.

Christian Thielemann, acclaimed as the leading Wagner conductor of our time, returns to Bayreuth for this radiant account of Die Walkure filmed at the 2010 Festival.

Johan Botha who performs the role of Siegmund was showered with praise by the press and appears alongside Edith Haller with her “beautiful, strong soprano voice” as his sister and lover Sieglinde.
