Blackpool singer/songwriter Rae Morris has her biggest ever home town appearance tomorrow with a support slot on Bombay Bicycle Club’s Empress Ballroom debut.

Rae has been on tour with the band for over a week playing at major venues across the UK as the opening act and showcasing her singing and keyboard talents to the band’s appreciative fans.

Rae started her own present tour last Saturday with an appearance at the first outdoor festival of the season in Wiltshire alongside Damon Albarn’s new band , Dr Dee. That show was followed by a dash across country to Cambridge to play with Bombay Bicycle Club on the opening night of their tour.

The next day she headed to London to open for fast rising band Noah and the Whale at The Royal Albert Hall and The Shepherds Bush Empire. It was then another dash up North to join the Bombay Bicycle Club tour again at The Barbican in York.

She also managed to squeeze in a live performance on BBC 2’s The Review Show on Friday night before heading to Liverpool at the weekend.

The tour then continued this week with dates in Plymouth, Portsmouth, Leicester before the Empress Ballroom tomorrow and a sold out finale at the Alexandra Palace in London, on Saturday Night.

A busy summer lies ahead for the talented teenager who attended St George’s High School and still lives in Marton, with festival appearances across the country and a tour in June taking in dates in Devon and Cornwall followed by five nights in the Scottish Highlands.

For fans who have been waiting for the release of her first recordings there is good news.

In between her hectic schedule of live dates she has found time to record her first EP. She has been working Noah and the Whale frontman and producer Charlie Fink and the EP is only available at her live shows and will be on sale tomorrow at the Empress Ballroom. One of her songs, Don’t Go, was recently used in the E4 show Skins, to close the final episode of this series. It’s now available to buy on i Tunes.
