It’s never too early for pantomime so Blackpool’s North Pier Theatre is getting ready to become Neverland for the summer.

Peter Pan is flying into the venue every Wednesday from July 25 to August 29 this summer with his friends (and foes) in a fully staged summer musical pantomime aimed at children of all ages.

J.M. Barrie’s classic story of exciting imagination and thrilling adventure, has been adapted for the stage by Anne Dalton, the award-winning writer of the hit musical Her Benny,

Writer, producer, composer, director and lyricist, Anne first wrote Her Benny the musical back in 1990. She has gone on to write and produce a succession of popular musicals – adaptations of Charles Dickens David Copperfield and A Christmas Carol, Nathaniel Hawkins The Scarlet Letter plus J.M Barrie’s children’s classic.

Anne’s original musicals Who Can Save Christmas? and Lorenzo’s Quest have also proved firm favourites and she received a Scouseology award, for services to theatre and received the North West Women of Achievement Merit Award.

With Anne’s songs and script the tale has been brought to life as a thrilling new musical pantomime where Pirates, Red Skins and Lost Boys pursue each other with gusto across the stage in a riot of colour and energy. All the familiar characters are there but you’ll also meet some new friends.

Peter Pan features a cast including West End performer Ben Darcy as Peter Pan, musical actor Peter Brindle as Captain Hook, Britain’s Got Talent contestant Charlotte Gallagher as Wendy Darling and Blackpool’s own Alisha Colacurcio as Tiger Lily and Mrs Darling.

Ben Darcy has been training at the Kelly Shirley School of Dance for 11 years. No stranger to the stage, he has been dancing, singing and acting since the age of six and has been selected to appear in productions such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Her Benny. He has also performed in the Royal Albert Hall, Her Majesty’s Theatre and Sadler’s Wells and is thrilled to playing the role of Peter Pan.

Peter Brindle has many theatre credits to his name such as Her Benny and the Moments of Magic tour. Peter has been a musical theatre and drama teacher for six years and is also a versatile artist on the club scene around the North West.

Charlotte Gallagher has been performing around the North West since the age of six. She appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2008, gaining a coveted four “yes’s”

Alisha Colacurcio hails from Blackpool and began her training at The Langley Dance Centre. She won Blackpool’s Young Talent competition in 2008 and has since performed at venues such as Disneyland Paris, Circus Bollywood and in numerous venues in London.

She is now passing on her knowledge and experience as a teacher at Starmaker Performing Arts Academy.

Performances are every Wednesday at 2 and 7.30pm from July 25 to August 29. Tickets are on sale now and seats are priced £10 each, with special discounted tickets for families of three (£25) and families of four (£30). Group discounts are also available.
