Highfurlong School pupils ‘stepped in time’ and ‘dreamed a dream’ to perform a spectacular summer show.
Magical Musicals saw children perform excerpts from Mary Poppins, Alice In Wonderland, Oliver Twist and Les Miserables
The children from the Blackpool school, where pupils aged from four up to 19 have physical disabilities or complex learning difficulties, played to a packed auditorium at Blackpool Sixth Form College on Friday morning.
Teachers, parents, friends, families and charity bosses sang along with pupils.
And there was hardly a dry eye in the house as Rebecca Falkingham sang I Dreamed A Dream, from musical Les Mis.
Gemma Wilson wowed again with her own Les Mis rendition, of Castle On A Cloud.
Each of the young performers, from dancing to singing to acting, with the unwaivering support of school staff, showed how the Blackpool Old Road school consistently earns Ofsted outstanding ratings.
The show was directed by teacher Jasmine Cherry, proving just why she won The Gazette’s Inspirational Teacher Award at the 2014 Education Awards.
Headteacher Rosie Sycamore said: “Our amazing students worked hard to put on another fantastic show.”
