An X Factor hopeful will join performers raising money to support children with a talent for languages at a special show on Saturday.
Paul Robathan, from Bispham, was seen on Saturday’s The Xtra Factor, with backing support from presenter Olly Murs, as he sang a fast food adaptation of Murs’ hit single Wrapped Up.
He’ll be taking to the stage at Michael Halls Theatre Company, 19 Preston Old Road, as locals support the new Karen Rich Foundation - set up in memory of the Blackpool born and bred teacher, who died in January after a stroke.
The foundation aims to give financial support to local children for foreign language lessons, books and school trips abroad.
Away from the classroom, her great love was music, and she was a member of community choir Sing as well as helping to form Mere-ly Perfect, which will be performing on Saturday too.
Gemma Craig, another founder member of Mere-ly Perfect, said: “Karen became our best friend and her infectious laughter and chaos became a source of incredible fun amongst her choir family.”
There will be refreshments on the night and a raffle with prizes donated by friends and businesses in the Layton area where Karen lived.
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £6 by calling 07882 293486 or 07800 575422.
