The tide may have gone out on The Sands Venue’s summer season last weekend, as Trevor Chance’s Legends show came to an end.

But a new programme of shows gets under way this weekend, through this month and beyond.

Tomorrow night sees a return visit of 10-piece soul tribute band The Kommitments getting the winter line-up under way.

And on Sunday the Central Promenade venue hosts the official closing party to the Lights, with the Friends Of The Illuminations’ End Of Season Switch-Off party taking place.

Sands Venue general manager Lee Dumbrill said: “They will be bringing the official “switch” with them to mark he special event.”

Sands Venue has celebrated its silver anniversary this year, and closed the summer season with full houses during the half term break and a ‘blockbuster’ closing weekend from Legends.

And to round off the year, the resident unique seven-piece Sands Show Band is back for four dates from next Friday, November 14 with guest vocalist Jimmy Love – fresh from his summer stint as the Legends show Meat Loaf tribute. The following week, Legends’ Michael Buble Mikey Powell makes his return to front the band.

Jeff Hooper takes his turn on the microphone for Show Band nights on November 22 and 28.

Other November highlights include Koo Ka Choo’s 70s Glam Rock Night on Saturday, November 15 and 80s Gold Saturday, November 29.
