Preston-based musician Tom Metcalfe (right) is preparing for an epic tour of the North, swinging by the Fylde coast three times on his meandering journey.
The self-funded expedition, which will take Tom as far afield as Batley and Leeds , kicked off last week in his home city and this weekend takes Tom and his guitar to Band on the Wall in Manchester.
Tom, who is a music tutor and studied at the University of Salford, will be pitching up next weekend at The Pavilion in St Annes.
That show is on Saturday night – don’t let the fact it’s Valentine’s Day, or that Tom is an ardent Preston North End fan put you off!
There are also dates at The Links in St Annes (Friday, February 20) and The Blue Room in Blackpool (Saturday, February 21) on Tom’s tour diary.
So don’t miss your chance to catch one of these free gigs before he heads away to the bright lights of Bury.
* Get ready for double the indie action this weekend at The Blue Room with performances from rock and roll aces The Westways and The Scarletts.
Southport and Preston-based Westways are the headline act for the night and are making a name for themselves on the local scene.
They are joined at the Church Street venue by Blackpool’s very own The Scarletts.
The four-piece recently just missed out on a final spot in the Last Band Standing contest at The Ferret in Preston and will be looking to provide a lively start to the evening on their homecoming.
The music, as always kicks off around 9pm and entry to the Blue Room is free
