Friday’s fourth and final summer Fylde Arts Young Artists’ Platform recitals ay Lytham Assembly Rooms by Charlotte Dowding (violin) accompanied by her father William (piano).
Charlotte (pictured above) was born in Preston and attended Chetham’s School of Music for 10 years, where she led the symphony orchestra in the sixth form.
Whilst at Chetham’s she was a semi-finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition and was awarded the Ida Carroll bursaries and the Graucob award.
Now aged 21 she is about to embark on her final year’s study at the Royal Northern College of Music where her studies have been supported by a college scholarship and a Leverhulme Trust undergraduate scholarship.
Charlotte has given concerts both here and abroad and has appeared as a concerto soloist on several occasions.
Her father Williams is a performer and private teacher as well as being piano teacher at Kirkham Grammar .
Friday’s recital begins at 2pm and includes works by Franck (Violin Sonata in A), Shostakovich (Romance from the Gadfly), Wieniawski (Concerto Polonaise) and several pieces by Kreisler.
Admission is £7 (Fylde Arts members £5).
