An Easter special weekend of tribute stars is being lined up at Blackpool’s Sands Venue.
The cabaret spot on Central Promenade will host four of the biggest names in rock and pop history during the forthcoming holiday weekend.
As a prelude to Trevor Chance’s Legends show’s third summer season at Sands, the Easter special features the welcome return of superstar songsmith Lionel Richie – not seen in the resort since the 2003 edition of the show.
Also in a three-day special, and fresh from the 2012 summer run, Lady Gaga brings her Monster Ball set back to the Legends stage.
Firm favourite Freddie Mercury will once again rock his way through Queen’s greatest hits, and for the first time ever Legends will feature a classic tribute to Michael Jackson – the King of Pop.
The Legends Easter Special runs from Friday, April 3 to Sunday, April 5 with tickets on sale now from the box office on (01253) 625262.
The summer season starts on June 11, featuring – for the very first time – a tribute to Take That and solo star Gary Barlow as well as his old sparring partner Robbie Williams.
Legendary Ladies are also in full supply with first lady of rock Tina Turner featuring material from her early days as half of Ike and Tina to her worldwide success as a solo artiste.
A firm Legends favourite, Elton John, will be making an appearance on selected weeks in place of another first for the show, Cher.
A spokesman said: “Ironically, the two stars have interchanged with one another in Las Vegas for many years so it seems fitting they should now be doing the same in Blackpool.”
Also on the 2015 bill will be Meat Loaf, with master of ceremonies Tom Bright, vocalist Leanne Fury, the Wendy Hollands Dancers and The Legends Orchestra.
A series of one-off shows will also play through April, with the Glam Mantic 70s and 80s show on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 25, plus 80s Gold on Saturday, April 11.
On Friday, April 17 The Karpenters combine beautiful music, fond memories and nostalgic moments in a return visit of the country’s leading tribute to the many hits of former chart toppers Karen and Richard Carpenter.
Making a debut at the venue on Saturday, April 18 is Keep It Cash – The Johnny Cash Tribute Show.
The spokesman added: “Formed 14 years and hailed as the most authentic Johnny Cash tribute act in the UK, Dave Burnham and his band recreate the greatest moments from the Man In Black’s long career.”
Jazz-swing singer and double bass player Nicola Farnon returns to the Seaview Restaurant on Friday, April 24 with a repertoire including classics from the 1930s to the 1970s.
