The arrival of 90s superstar David Hasselhoff to front a world premiere musical in Blackpool has been welcomed across the resort.
A two-week run of new show Last Night A DJ Saved My Life will open at the Opera House on Friday, October 16.
The former Baywatch and Knight Rider star in recent years has appeared in pantomime across the UK.
The Hoff was last in Blackpool in 2011 when he officially opened Nickelodeon Land at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
Managing director Amanda Thompson said: “This is fantastic news for Blackpool and a real coup for the Winter Gardens.
“Blackpool Pleasure Beach has a great relationship with The Hoff and we know how popular he is.
“We hope Last Night A DJ Saved My Life will be a huge success and bring even more visitors to the resort.”
The show, from the creatives behind Dreamboats And Petticoats and Boogie Nights, is set in Ibiza in the early 90s, with Hasselhoff playing a hard partying club owner and DJ whose daughter turns up unannounced.
The soundtrack features 90s classic hits from the likes of the Spice Girls, Robbie Williams, Yazz and MC Hammer.
Claire Smith, from hoteliers group Stay Blackpool, said: “It’s absolutely fabulous and sits well with what we do here in Blackpool; light-hearted, fun and for every age.
“We are heading towards a really good selection of high calibre shows; Tommy with Joe McElderry, the Hoff and then Christmas Carol with Paul Nicholas.”
Iain Hawkins, head of Merlin in the resort, added: “Having the likes of Mamma Mia in the town last year has played a big part in putting Blackpool on the map and it’s important we continue to keep that momentum moving.”
