Blackpool’s annual display of coloured hair, tartan clothing and ripped leg-wear is back with Rebellion Festival underway.
The weekend-long celebration of all things punk and alternative is taking over the Winter Gardens, with many of the music fans making the most of the sun yesterday afternoon as they settled into the resort.
Among the acts playing on the opening day were Blackpool’s own Strange Bones and The Kut.
Also on stage during the weekend will be the likes of John Lydon’s Public Image Ltd - in their 40th anniversary year, Stiff Little Fingers, UK Subs, Peter Hook and the Light, and Spizzenergie.
There will be gigs throughout the complex, with Olympia back in action replacing the outdoors stage of recent years.
