The new autumn season of classical music recitals gets underway this week.

The Pennine Piano Trio (pictured) will play the opening date of the Fylde Arts Midday Recital’s programme, at Springfield Methodist Church on Friday.

The trio is made up of Julian Cann on violin, Robert Buller on cello and Philip Kubilius on piano.

Julian graduated from the Royal Holloway University, London and works mainly as a freelance musician, as a recital soloist, chamber music and orchestral player. He is currently the leader of the Haffner Orchestra with whom he has also appeared as a concerto soloist.

Cellist Robert studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester prior to becoming an IT consultant, although he performs with many professional string quartets and plays for a variety of local orchestras and choral societies in the North West.

Philip graduated from the Royal Manchester College of Music with special merit in performance. He has accompanied many famous singers and instrumentalists and has been in demand as a chamber musician and soloist throughout his career. For 24 years he was head of keyboard at Blackburn School of Music and he is currently head of piano at Rossall School.

The recital begins at 1pm and entry costs £8, or £6 for Fylde Arts members.
