Piano duo John Gough and Tom Kimmance come to Lytham Assembly Rooms for the latest Fylde Arts Midday Recital.
The second in the series of recitals will see the duo perform a programme including works by Mozart (Sonata in B flat major KV385), Schubert (Fantasie in F minor D940), York Bowen (Nocturne and Jig) and Brahms (Three Hungarian dances).
John Gough is one of the country’s leading professors of pianoforte, teaching at both the prestigeous Royal Northern College of Music and Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester.
He also enjoys a busy career as a soloist and accompanist, having given many BBC broadcasts on Radio 3 and Radio 2 and on Classic FM.
He has also appeared as concerto soloist with many leading orchestras and is in great demand as an adjudicator in music festivals.
Tom Kimmance was born in Merseyside and studied at Liverpool University.
He has appeared as recitalist and as concerto soloist in the North West and is also a piano tutor at Liverpool University.
Both pianists perform individually but also enjoy working together in both piano duets and in concerts for two pianos.
The recital this Friday begins at 2pm and admission costs £8, or £6 for Fylde Arts members.
