Lytham-based organist and presenter Nigel Ogden makes his annual visit to St Cuthbert’s Church in the town tomorrow at 7.30pm to perform a programme of popular and light-classical music on the unique Copeman Hart Digital Organ.

Nigel has presented BBC Radio 2’s longest-running specialist music programme, The Organist Entertains, for over 30 years.

His recording output is considerable with over 70 solo or combination LPs, cassettes and CDs to his credit. He has also made several TV appearances and has been a guest on BBC 1’s Songs Of Praise.

His weekly radio broadcasts have resulted in Nigel having appeared on the air on more than some 1500 occasions and he is the only organist ever to have broadcast a Wurlitzer on Radio 3, playing solo items from the classical repertoire.

He has also provided background music for numerous radio and TV plays and documentaries, including Dennis Potter’s Lipstick On Your Collar which featured Roy Hudd playing a cinema organist character.

Tickets are £7 and may be obtained on the door. A multi concert discount scheme is in operation – attend six concerts and visit a seventh concert free.
