Have your say

It’s good to tell why The Searchers have been at the top of their profession for 50 years (this is their 50th anniversary tour).

They still look good, sound good, are full of enthusiasm, with obvious attention to their appearance and give a quality performance which all helps to maintain their reputation.

From the opening number, their debut number one single Sweet for My Sweet, they had a near capacity audience in the palm of their hand. The first half of the “full evening of The Searchers”, (no support act needed) featured many of the B sides of their records but were still instantly recognisable. The second half contained all their number one hits with front man Frank Allen filling in with some amusing history of the group.

Numbers like Gary Pucket’s Young Girl and Jack Nitzsche and Sonny Bono chart topper Needles and Pins had some of the audience dancing in the isles and a final spot featuring even more of their endless hits had the whole audience standing and cheering.

One of the final numbers was Rocking All Over The World. The Searchers have done this and thoroughly deserved to have too.
