An evening of organ music will celebrate the 10th anniversary the Cannock Chase Organ Club.

The club, whose members care for and regularly host concerts at the Winter Gardens, will once more be in the resort on Sunday,

September 9.

Organiser Howard Beaumont will strike up the Opera House’s mighty Wurlitzer for the special concert.

Howard is an ‘international recording and concert artiste’, and his 31 years as the resident player at Scarborough Spa has earned him the nickname Mr Scarborough.

He played for Edmund Hockridge, the British answer to Howard Keel, and Colin Crompton and George Roper. He has been featured regularly on BBC Radio’s The Organist Entertains.

The Cannock Chase Club restored the majestic instrument in the Opera House to its former glory back in 2007. And more recently restored an organ to the Empress Ballroom.

* Tickets are on sale now, costing £6 for the 2pm concert, from www.wintergardens blackpool.co.uk.
