Eager Proms-goers will be able to get a taste of what’s to come at this year’s newly rebranded Lytham Festival from today.
At 6pm, festival organisers will begin a seasonal campaign ‘12 Days of Announcements’, giving new details about the week-long celebrating set to take over the town from August 2 to 9.
As revealed last week, Lytham Proms has now become Lytham Festival and will include four nights of live open-air concerts on Lytham Green, as well as comedy, literature and jazz events across the town.
Organisers Cuffe and Taylor promise that “A-list talent from the classical and pop worlds will remain the jewel in Lytham Festival’s crown.”
New venues will include The Assembly Rooms hosting a jazz café and the Hewitt Lecture Rooms, where spoken word and poetry performances will be showcased, and a comedy Big Top at Park View 4U, also the base for a Festival of Stories to celebrate story-telling for children and families.
With the additional activity running alongside the main arena on Lytham Green, events over the course of the week will include both free and ticketed options.
Announcements will be found via social media outlets including Twitter and Facebook under the hashtag #TheTideIsChanging. Register for updates at www.lythamfestival.com.
