An award-winning folk artist is playing out a Folks and Roots Club’s last gig of the season tonight.
Niamh Boadle, who was a finalist in the BBC Folk Awards and winner of the Young Acoustic Roots competition at the Wath Folk Festival, will play at Gillespies Folk and Roots Night.
The musician, from St Annes, plays the guitar, fiddle and also sings.
Event organiser Annie Walton said: “We at Gillespie’s strive to encourage and promote the young up and coming folk and acoustic players, and have gained a reputation for booking young players.
“Niamh is such a talented young woman, who deserves to be heard.
“Last year she dropped in on our club on an open mic evening and just wowed everybody into pin-drop silence with her performance.”
The event takes place at the Old Town Hall, in Poulton town centre, at 8.30pm tonight (Thursday).
