Blackpool-based, The Nolans, now hailed as the ultimate girl group and known for their harmonies, warmth and party hits, have announced that their 2013 UK tour will be their last together.
After four of the six sisters reunited for their sold out 30th anniversary tour in 2009 (which spawned a best selling album, DVD and autobiography), Coleen, Bernie, Linda and Maureen will take to the road in February, for a 19 date UK tour dubbed “In The Mood For Dancing…One LAST Time”, starting in Nottingham on February 15 and ending in Liverpool on March 14.
Says Coleen: “I can barely put into words how I feel about the fact that this is going to be the very last time we’ll ever perform together again. The Nolans has been such a huge part of our lives and we’ve loved every minute together and we can’t thank the public enough for still caring about us after all these years.
“We were so shocked at how much love there still was for us in 2009 when our reunion tour sold out, we loved seeing all our fans again and we promised that if we ever got the chance we’d do it all again one last time... well here we are... This really is our final farewell!
“Don’t miss it because we are going to give you a night to remember! Come and dance your cares away for a few hours and share our goodbyes and thankyous to you all for being there for us - we love you!”
Says Bernie: “Well this is it!, one last time for us all to be together and celebrate what an amazing ride it has been. We’ve got so many surprises in store, as ever, a fabulous live band, gorgeous boy dancers and some great film footage. Some of our biggest hits and all those big diva anthems that get you cutting loose on the dance floor. Come and reminisce with us one more time, it’s going to be something really special that none of us will ever forget.”
Maureen says: “I am so excited about the tour, it’s amazing that we get a chance to do another one all together. The last one was possibly the most fun we had ever. Expect to have just as much fun if not more, as well as all the songs you love we’ll also be getting emotional with ballads and getting wild again with our gorgeous male dancers who always seem to lose their tops. It means everything to us to get another chance to meet all you lovely people who have been so loyal to us for so long for one last time.”
And Linda adds: “To say I am excited would be a massive understatement. We are bowing out after 50 years in showbiz, And they said it wouldn’t last! We had such an amazing, fun time on the last tour and I have a feeling that this one is going to be even better. We have some great surprises lined up, and I think you will all enjoy our ‘trip down memory lane’ section and we’ll be getting more intimate with the fans this time bringing them closer to us than ever before.
“Tinged with a little sadness that this is our farewell tour but happy in the knowledge that we are going out with a bang.”
The Nolans sold over 25 million records worldwide and became a global name with their hugely successful single I’m In The Mood For Dancing which topped charts around the world.
