The choir at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is preparing for a five-hour singathon to raise money for charity.

The NHS Trust Choir will perform at the Winter Gardens later this month to raise money for Blue Skies Hospitals Fund – the Trust charity which it has been supporting since its inception more than a year ago.

Choirmaster Di Healey said: “To sing for five hours is no mean feat, so we hope people come along and donate money for this very worthy cause.

“We will be doing a variety of songs including those which we know and some which we will learn specially for the singathon.

“There will be lots going on as people have volunteered to do individual performances. It will be everything musical over the five hours.”

The choir has been getting its voice heard recently with a concert in Garstang, raising £400 for Blue Skies Hospitals Fund, and a performance in the new main entrance at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, which raised a further £80 for the charity.

They follow the choir’s biggest concert yet, which was held at the Grand Theatre in April and raised £4,000.

The choir will be singing in the Grand Vestibule Entrance of the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, from noon until 5pm on Sunday, October 26.
