Three honorary patrons of Lancaster’s The Dukes theatre came together for the first time, to support the venue’s fund-raising drive and attend its summer promenade production of Oliver Twist.

BAFTA winner Sarah Lancashire, Coronation Street star Cherylee Houston and Lancaster-based actor Christine Mackie attended a patrons reception in the Ashton Memorial before the show.

All spoke about the importance of supporting local producing theatres, like The Dukes.

Earlier in the day, Sarah Lancashire led an Actor’s Studio event at The Dukes where she talked about her career and answered questions from the audience as part of the theatre’s Youth Forum Summer Takeover.

The Fleetwood venue plays host to The Ragdolls (pictured) on Thursday, September 17 to present their tribute to the rise to stardom of one of the most successful bands in pop history.

The show features all the hits, including Big Girls Don’t Cry, Let’s Hang On, Beggin’, Rag Doll and Sherry Baby.

A spokesman said: “The Ragdolls tribute to the Jersey Boys is a magnificent interpretation of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons; the mob, the heartaches, the triumphs and the music.”
