The founding members from one of the original boy bands – The Bachelors – are back in Blackpool.

Brothers Con and Dec Cluskey had great success in the 1960s, even outselling The Beatles in 1964 and 65, as The Bachelors with John Stokes.

The Dublin-born brothers are headlining the North Pier’s Saturday summer show, Holiday Startime with The Bachelors.

Also appearing in the weekly showcase are compere Liam Hailwood, Steven Hall – Britain’s Got Talent 2011 finalist, singer Sara Cheston and Nicky Figgins and the Startime Dancers.

The traditional-style end of the pier show is one of a host of performances this summer, as the venue fights back after the winter storms’ devastation.

A spokeswoman said: “The Bachelors are on every Saturday until the end of August in the longest summer season for many years.

“They are really getting it going again.

“The pier was devastated last winter and it has taken a heck of a lot of money, time, work and people rallying round to get it back - and this is the way forward.

“If we can make this season a successful one, we can really move forward.”
