The talented opera ‘boy band’ Blake are back in Lancashire this month.

The Brit Award-winners have been inspired by the work of other vocal trios, The Three Tenors, The Bee Gees and The Lettermen for their latest concert show In Harmony – which sees them combining classic songs from their first four albums with exclusive new songs from their critically-acclaimed fifth album.

They will showcase songs from the musicals, as well as pop and classical tracks for their ‘most eclectic stage spectacular yet’ at Clitheroe’s Grand on Friday, January 23.

The group is also searching for local choirs to join them on stage. Choirs can email their video to the Blake for a chance to join them on five ensemble numbers. Call (01200) 421599 for tickets.

* Poets are being called on to share their skills at the latest slam event with Lancashire Dead Good Poets.

The group is getting together tonight from 6pm at The Moo Bar, Queen Street, Blackpool, joined by Sarah L Dixon – organiser of The Quiet Compere Tour. Adele Robinson, from the poets’ group, said: “Sarah may be poet-spotting for her 2015 tour of the UK, so don’t miss the opportunity to show off your writing and performance skills.

“Our theme for the evening is ‘Hopes and Fears’, but just come along and read your work, or support the event.”
