An established mini music festival is setting out to support Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
Gig Guide Fest 4 will raise funds for the Neo-natal Unit through the hospital charity, Blue Skies Hospitals Fund.
The two-day music event will feature eight bands, all performing at The Layton, on Westcliffe Drive, on August 15 and 16.
Promoter Mark Taylor, (pictured) who works in Stores at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, started up the Gig Guide eight years ago to showcase Blackpool bands and it soon grew it a charity fund-raiser.
He said: “I decided last year to raise money for its charity and picked the neo-natal unit as beneficiary.
“I’ve known a few people who have had to use the unit, so I know how good a cause it is. I hope people do come along to support this festival because we have got some great bands which have come together for a great cause.”
The event last year raised £1,500 and organisers hope to top that this year.
Mr Taylor is being supported by Dave Harrop Productions which is providing sound for the festival and Craig Atkins who is supplying the drum kit.
Entry costs £3, payable on the door.
