Friday’s Fylde Arts Midday Recital has a festive feel with the annual Christmas Is Coming programme at the Lytham Assembly Rooms.
Again presented and accompanied by series organiser Marjorie Pennington, guest artists this year include popular mezzo-soprano Tina Bywater, known throughout the Fylde for her many concert and recital appearances.
She has also performed successful roles with various opera companies.
Julian Cann is a well-known Northern-based violinist who leads both the Stonebridge and Casalia String Quartets and also the Hafner Orchestra.
As leader of the Pennine piano trio he has appeared frequently in the Fylde Arts Midday recitals and for various music societies.
Jane Foster, cello, joins Marjorie and Julian to form the trio which contributes light classics and accompanies the carols. Jane is principal cello of the Blackpool Symphony Orchestra, the Fylde Concert Orchestra and also plays with the Fylde Sinfonia.
Friday’s programme begins at 2pm and includes songs, arias, instrumental solos, trios and concludes with carols for all.
There is a buffet for all and a Christmas raffle. Admission is £7 (Fylde Arts members £5).
