Calling all punks, skins, goths and other incarnations of the subversive – this year’s Rebellion Festival at the Winter Gardens is almost upon us.

But you don’t have to wait until the weekend to start the revelry

As usual, the Tache Rock Club, which is now above the Rose and Crown pub on Corporation Street, will be hosting its very own fringe events. These kick off tonight with a festival pre -show that features seven live acts (Drongos For Europe, Choking Susan, Geoffrey Oi-Cott, Litterbug, Crackshot, The Blame and Kickback Generation), accompanied by a punk rock DJ.

The aftershows on tomorrow, and all weekend till Sunday start at 11pm and end at 4am. This year’s line ups include Social Schism, Fight Back, The Zipheads, At The Edge (SLF tribute), Senton Bombs, Demob, RSI, The Fiend, Cryo Genics , The Vile, Pink Hearse, Army of Skanks and Radio Dead Ones.

The Tache Rock Club also hosts two daytime events over the weekend. Both gigs will run between 2 and 6pm. Saturday sees local Ska tribute act Skaface play two sets and Sundays event is headlined by the Sex Pistols Experience with support from local Ramones covers band Sedated.

Each aftershow event is priced at £3. Sunday’s matinee with the Sex Pistols Experience is a fiver and so is the pre-show. Get in the venue early as it usually fills up quickly.
