Hot on the heels of Bonfire Night, Blackpool Symphony Orchestra presents Handel’s Firework Suite in their concert on Saturday.
As part of their 95th season, the orchestra will also perform Dvorak’s 7th Symphony and Stravinsky’s Pulcinella suite at 7.30pm at the Blackpool Salvation Army Citadel, Raikes Parade.
Musical director and conductor Helen Harrison said: “We thought it would be a really fun idea to play Handel’s Firework Suite close to Bonfire Night.
“When this piece was first performed it was the ‘One Direction concert’ of its day – a massive, impressive spectacle with over 100 musicians involved.”
Orchestra chairman Alex Roe said: “It’s been a real treat for the orchestra to explore some baroque music. We are looking forward to performing it for our audience.”

They’ve also played gig slots on the road with The Libertines, The View and Sleaford Mods.
