Punk band The Fits will be back on home turf this weekend.
The Blackpool punk outfit are at The Layton, Westcliffe Drive, on Sunday night, with a line-up also including Litterbug, Crackshot and The Drop Out Wives.
Vocalist Mick Crudge said the band was looking forward to the homecoming show.
“We are ready to roll and it has been a long time,” he said.
“We have had a lot of interest in the gig on Facebook with a lot of old faces saying they may be coming – probably with their grandkids now!
“The Layton Institute has been a place I grew up next to and passed it nearly every day, so playing there will be great. And it seems to be building up for a real homecoming atmosphere.
“A lady I went to college with in St Annes, her daughter is in one of the support acts for the night, which is great.”
The Fits broke up in 1987, but reformed for a one-off gig at Blackpool’s Rebellion Festival in 2011.
When the band split, frontman Mick went to America, but when he return to Blackpool to visit family, he found out about the punk festival and was asked to play acoustic sets for a couple of years before getting the band back together.
“We just haven’t been around to play Blackpool, but it has gone from strength to strength,” said Mick ahead of the weekend’s gig.
