TOMORROW’S Fylde Arts mid-day recital at Poulton Methodist Church will be an unusual programme presented by cellists Jeremy Lamburn and Peter Freyham.
Jeremy is a post-graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music where he studied with Emma Ferrand. Since then he has worked as a chamber music and orchestral player with the Northern Chamber Orchestra and, during a period of time living in Australia, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
He also plays in duo partnership with pianist Nigel Spooner, with the Stonebridge Quartet and the White Piano Trio.
Peter read music at Cambridge after which he followed a career as an orchestral player including four years at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and many years in the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
Since then he has concentrated on chamber music playing with the Croma Piano Trio and as cellist of the Anima String Quartet.
Friday’s programme contains works written or arranged for two celli including Barriere (Sonata a deux), Rossini (Duet), Bartok (Four Duos), Kummer (Variations on a Theme of Handel), Faure (Sicilienne), and pieces by Gershwin and Bernstein.
The recital begins at 1pm and admission is £7 with £5 for Fylde Arts members.
As usual hot meals (£3) are available at the church from 11.30am onwards.
