PARTY ON THE PROM: BLACKPOOL FESTIVAL Tower Festival Headland
After two days and late nights of serious house and dance music at Blackpool Festival, it was the turn of Blackpool’s kids to rave on at Party On The Prom as the family-friendly fun took over the Festival Headland arena on Sunday.
Little ones were spoilt for choice with music, messy play and science workshops as well as live performances on stage, from the likes of Johnny And The Raindrops - who mixed some rocking country vibes with serious messages for the under 10s, like eating your greens, getting my mini-festivalgoer dancing with her dad under the beaming sun.
House and dance made their presence felt in a packed tent for Raver Tots with Slipmatt and Judge Jules, taking mums and dads back to their late night rave days.
With appearances from kids’ TV favourites, including Peter Rabbit and Peppa Pig, there was plenty to entertain.
As a first-time event, there were some teething problems.
The site seemed a bit grubby after the previous nights’ revelries and water was in short supply behind the bar, but the festival has definite potential for the future.
