Comedian, actor and Premier Inn promoter Lenny Henry is returning to where it all began – back to his celebrated comedy career with a 38-date national tour of his brand new one-man show Pop Life.
Lenny will take his audience on a joyride through his life using his first main passion of music entwined with his renowned witty charisma.
And Pop Life will feature Lenny playing the piano in front of an audience for the first time, after having recently passed his grade 4 piano exam.
He says: “It will be a nerve-wracking experience, but really good fun.”
Following the rave reviews Lenny Henry achieved from appearing with Northern Broadsides in Othello and playing Antipholus of Syracuse in The Comedy Of Errors at The National Theatre, Lenny returns to the stand-up forum with a show about just how music goes better with everything and how it affects us in all our lives.
But it’s not just about music, Lenny will also enlighten us on his thoughts on the Olympic and Paralympic fever that has swept across Britain and open up about his friends and family in this brand new show containing plenty of laughs and lots of funky tunes along the way.
Lenny has written the show with his long term collaborator, Kim Fuller who worked with Lenny on Three Of A Kind, The Lenny Henry Show and Saturday Night Live.
The 38-date Pop Life tour begins at the Leeds City Varieties on October 8 and will be at Lancaster Grand Theatre on October 28.
