Layton to start season of rock

Layton Institute is breaking new ground with a season of band nights starting in March.

The nights will feature a headline band plus support act and compere and take pace in the Westcliiffe Drive’s concert room for the following three to six months if the demand is there.

The first band will be Rang-a-Tang on Sunday March 4, with an admission price of £3.75 per person if bought two weeks in advance from the club or £5 on the night, non members welcome.

The nights then move to Friday with the full list for the first eight weeks being The Rockitts plus Sheila Diamond – March 9; Touchdown from Liverpool plus Mike Dennett and Chick - March 16; The Gillettes plus Tom Collins – March 23; The Senators plus Smile comedy tribute show – March 30; The Kasuals 60s tribute band plus Sean Middleton’s Robbie Williams tribute act – April 6; Complex plus Smile – April 13; Blue Pig Orchestra plus Vince Shaw – April 20.
