It’s that time of the year again where Blackpool’s finest musicians (and some of the others) forget how talented they are for one night and play some of the worst songs ever written.
Amazingly some of them have been trapped in rooms for the past two months learning Christmas Pop Songs for tomorrow’s latest edition of A Very Messy Christmas in the Blue Room on Church Street.
Every band gets a three-song set list consisting of at least one Christmas cover and this year’s line-up incudes Messy Christmas veterans Dinosaurs Are **** Dragons, The Senton Bombs, Escape Artist, Kraul, The Colours, Laura Catlow and Uncle Paul as well as some newcomers such as Fighting, The Maddisons and The Orchid Family.
This year also sees the return of Ramonastone, not seen since A Very Messy Christmas 2.
As well as all this here is Blackpool ‘super’ group - Kraul Never Say Die Catlow Dinosaurs, the band made up of members of Goonies Never Say Die, Kraul, Dinosaurs Are **** Dragons and Laura Catlow performing a set list of all cover songs.
The band played earlier in the year at A Very Messy 90s Dance Night where their set went down so well they decided to try it again at all subsequent nights like this.
It’s a different way to celebrate Christmas.
Entrance is £1 in on the door with no advance tickets so get down early to make sure you get in.
It all kicks off at 7.30pm
Our picture shows (left to right) Simon Morgan - guitar (ex Goonies Never Say Die), Dan Kerr - drums (Goonies Never Say Die / Dinosaurs Are **** Dragons), Luke Williams - vocals (Kraul / Makers of Venice), Barry Parkinson - guitar/vocals (Goonies Never Say Die / Dinosaurs Are **** Dragons / Ramonastone and event organiser), Adam Shaw - bass (Kraul) and Laura Catlow - vocals (Laura Catlow).
