* Friday’s Fylde Arts Junior Midday Recital at Lytham Assembly Rooms on Friday will feature Jessica Riley (violin), Nicola Charter (violin), Sophie Midgeley (clarinet), Aimee Bilsborough (oboe) and Hannah Culver (piano).
All are pupils at Kirkham Grammar School and they will be accompanied by the school’s director of music, Andrew Barratt.
The recital begins at 2pm and admission is free.
* The final performance of the New Central Methodist Tuesday Group’s Diamond Jubilee Show takes place tomorrow at 7.30pm.
Celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Year, the show features 60 years of song, dance and comedy performed by an all age cast.
Admission of £5 for adults and £2.50 for children, includes refreshments. Proceeds go to charity.
The entrance to the show and the church is on Adelaide Street West (between the Tower and Debenhams), next to Gregg’s bakery.

The Cropper Road, Marton, restaurant is presenting the UK’s only tribute to America’s sweetheart, Doris Day, for an evening of food and timeless classics.
Vocalist Jean Giles will perform some of Doris’s greatest hits including Teacher’s Pet, The Deadwood Stage and Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps, capturing the essence of the American singer and actress’s performances.
Tickets for the Doris Day tribute evening cost £19.99 per person – which includes a three course meal.
