SHE hasn’t had a break for the last two years.

But that’s just the way Bispham-born actress and singer Hayley Tamaddon likes it.

The 34-year-old has had a very busy couple of years since starting rehearsals for Dancing on Ice in October 2009.

She went on to win the hit ITV show, with her childhood friend Dan Whiston. Since then she has appeared in musicals, presented TV and radio shows, as well as taking part in two tours of Dancing on Ice.

Last week, she appeared on the panel on Channel Five’s the Wright Stuff, alongside comedian Greg Davies.

She said: “It was great, I love being on a panel show. I really enjoyed debating and talking about the various issues.

“I’ve been doing a lot more presenting jobs over the past few months, so it was good fun to appear on the Wright Stuff.

“I’ve been on it before, but only doing the odd day, rather than a whole week on the panel. I think I managed to hold my own and do all right.”

It’s not long since Hayley finished the 2011 Dancing on Ice tour, in which she again partnered her friend Dan Whiston, from Poulton.

The former Montgomery High School pupil said: “I loved the tour, even more than last year. It was absolutely fantastic.”

And all that skating helped her to keep in shape. She said: “I lost so much weight through skating. I have put a few pounds on since we finished the tour, I need to start running again. You have to get a balance, because I love food.

“I think when I was in Emmerdale, I was my biggest, I was really quite curvy, but it’s important to me now to be fit and slim.”

The last two years have seen Hayley rekindle a friendship from her younger years too, with professional skating partner on Dancing on Ice, Dan Whiston.

The pair met as youngsters when Hayley attended drama school and Dan skated at the Pleasure Beach arena.

“I love working with Dan. We just spent a weekend presenting the Radio Aire breakfast show in Leeds, which was great fun. We make a great team.

“It’s exciting doing presenting, because it’s a new avenue for the two of us.”

Even as a child, Hayley knew the entertainment business was the one for her.

“When I was a kid, I knew dancing and singing would be what I would do when I was older.

“A lot of kids say they want to be a nurse or a fireman or whatever, and change their minds, but this was always what I wanted to do. And I have worked hard over the years. I’m still not really where I want to be. You can never really be complacent, and I’m still working to get to the top.

“I love to work. Since I started rehearsals for Dancing on Ice in October 2009, I haven’t really had a break and that’s the way I like it.

“I don’t do sitting still very well, I always have to be busy. I think I had four days in Majorca as a little break and that was about it.”

Over the years, she has appeared in countless musicals, including Grease, Fame, Mamma Mia, Boogie Nights, The Rocky Horror Show and Spamalot.

Hayley said: “At the moment, I am working on a few things, going to meetings and for castings. I can’t really talk about that right now, but one of the things I am hoping to get is a musical, which would be great.

“I’ve done musicals before, so it’s not new really - I love singing and performing.”

Hayley remains tight-lipped over her love life - although it’s find to imagine when she has time to fit one in.

At the moment she is in London due to castings and meetings, but does like to visit the Fylde coast and her parents whenever she can.

She said: “I love to see my family, they’re really proud of me.

“My mum and dad have been looking after my dog for the last 18 months, so every time I go home, the first thing I do is curl up on the sofa, in front of the fire, with him.”
