Friday’s Fylde Arts Midday Recital at Poulton Methodist Church will be given by the ever-popular guitarist Neil Smith.
Neil is acknowledged as one of this country’s finest exponents of guitar with an international reputation as performer, teacher, lecturer and examiner.
He studied with the world’s most renowned guitarists and composers and his world tours have included visits to Europe, USA, Canada, Russia, Japan and South America where he has given recitals, lectures and directed guitar festivals.
He is a fellow of the London College of Music, and has been an examiner for the Universities of Huddersfield and South Wales also working as examiner and assessor for the Royal Northern College of Music.
This week’s programme includes works by Albeniz (Granada), Santiago de Murcio (Codex IV Dances), traditional Hispanic works (Guitarra Flamenca) and miscellaneous pieces by South American composers.
The recital begins at 1pm and admission is £7 (Fylde Arts Members £5) on the door.
Hot lunches priced £4 are available at the church with tea and cakes after the performance.
