Gazette astrologer and Strictly Come Dancing favourite Russell Grant is to guest star in the smash hit musical Grease for its limited one week run in Manchester.

He will play the role of Teen Angel and hopes to leave audiences hopelessly devoted to his charms when Grease rocks into the Palace Theatre from Monday to Saturday October 8 to 13.

Following a four year London run and the first tour in over five years, the hit West End is now back by popular demand continuing to rock ‘n’ roll around the UK from July 3 and is currently booking until December 29.

Danny Bayne (winner of ITV’s Grease is the Word and Hairspray) stars as Danny with Carina Gillespie (Grease in the West End and Buddy) as his sweetheart Sandy.

Russell Grant found international fame through becoming the Astrologer Royal but before this he had a successful acting career in theatre, television and film. He recently captured the attention of the nation and fulfilled his professional dream of learning how to dance on BBC’s hit series Strictly Come Dancing.

Returning to his theatrical roots, Russell has just completed a successful season as The Wizard in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium.

Since opening on Broadway in 1972, Grease’s place has been firmly established in the cultural Hall of Fame and has been voted the best musical of all time.
