Crooning superstar Daniel O’Donnell (pictured right) is heading back to Blackpool later this year and his fans are hoping he might be bringing Britain’s Got Talent discovery Susan Boyle with him.

Last summer during a concert tour around his native Ireland, the consummate performer was half-way into his ever popular show when one of his female fans joined him on stage, sparking a sudden frisson of excitement in the theatre.

Daniel’s “fan” turned out to be none other than Susan Boyle and she duetted on one of his recordings, Lady Of Knock, leaving the audience on their feet shouting for more.

Susan, it turned out, was a regular at Daniel’s concerts in Scotland long before shooting to massive international fame herself thanks to her television appearances.

Daniel considers himself fortunate to have played some of the most iconic venues in the world, including London’s Royal Albert Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall, Sydney’s famous Opera House and Ireland’s state-of-the art new concert arena The 02.

“It has always been a thrill to perform in the great venues that are household names or have a wonderful history,” Daniel admits. “But, to be honest, it’s the people rather than the places I play in that really make the show for me.

“When I think back over my time on stage since the 80s, it’s the response from the audience every night that is exciting to recall.”

Daniel has sold millions of his recordings worldwide and is the only artist in the world to claim at least one hit album every year since 1988, earning him a place in the Guinness World Records. His music DVDs have all been number one best-sellers ahead of some of the greatest stars from around the globe. He is also officially one of the UK’s Top 60 Best Selling Albums artists of the 21st Century.

This year Daniel plans to release an Irish album. It will feature songs like Tipperary Girl, My Lovely Donegal, Red Is The Rose and I’ll Remember You Love In My Prayers which fans will know from his summer 2010 EP.

Tickets priced £35.50 to £37.50 for his Saturday October 8 Blackpool Opera House date go on sale next Saturday from 10am at the Winter Gardens and usual channels.
