Whittaker Dance and Drama Centre students have yet another reason to be excited about 2012.
Last month they celebrated their 60th (diamond) anniversary and now they have been invited to perform in the Easter spectacular Celtic Dream at Blackpool North Pier Theatre on Saturday April 7.
The talented young dancers will take to the stage and perform one of their most complicated, most thrilling and most loved dances, Harmonia Mundi (Gaelic Gaiety) known by many as their marvellous tribute to Riverdance.
Sheila Norbury from Whittaker Dance and Drama Centre said: “We are so thrilled to have been asked to be part of Celtic Dream. The children and young people will be performing one of their favourite pieces and are excited about being on stage with the wonderful professional singers and dancers in the show.”
Whittaker Dance and Drama Centre will be joining forces with the Dream Dancers, Dream Tenors and Dream Singers to bring to Blackpool what the promoters describe as “the true spirit of Ireland – with a breathtaking myriad of brilliant dance, phenomenal vocals, astounding musicianship and glittering costumes.”
The show blends traditional Irish music alongside modern and popular songs, embodying the spirit, heart and soul of Ireland. Celtic Dream at Blackpool North Pier Theatre for one night only on Saturday April 7 at 8pm. Tickets at £22.50 and £20.50 are on sale now.
They can be booked by calling the North Pier box office on (01253) 623304, visiting www.northpierblackpool.co.uk, or via the 24-hour Ticketmaster Hotline 0844 847 2452.
