Burlesque is back in Blackpool this weekend.

The hit 2010 film, Burlesque and Blackpool’s own Showzam! festival have created an interest in the neo-burlesque craze which exploded on to the Los Angeles scene in the early 90’s.

With internationally renowned artists such as Dita von Teese and the UK’s Immodesty Blaise this well respected and highly enjoyable provocative entertainment has taken hold of the public’s imagination once again.

The latest episode arrives in Blackpool on Saturday when Black Country Burlesque brings its latest tour to Beat on Corporation Street.

Headlined by home grown Satine Di Monte, Blackpool may have a new von Teese or Blaise of their own to talk about as she returns to her home town to perform her act.

Complete with dancers such as Lola Lektrik, Tallulah Titch, Kosmic Kitty, Misty Vie, Daisy Lane, Mhia More, Lethal Gem and Mae Frost it’s a full production show and the audience is invited and encouraged to dress accordingly – male and female alike.

“Anything goes for the female participants but for the males are more reserved sharp suit with a hat to match would be an appropriate attire,” said a spokesman for Black Country Burlesque. “Think Bugsy Malone for adults and you’ll not be far away!”
