The Bay City Rollers will bid Bye Bye Baby to Blackpool tonight as they’ve announced Christmas will be the last time Les, Alan and Woody will appear on stage as a threesome.
The trio have declared their Shang-a-lang-a-Xmas Party tour will see them bow out for one last time.
“We’ve had tremendous fun,” says frontman Les. “But we think now is the time for us to say one last thank you to our fans and bid them farewell.”
The threesome – Les McKeown, Alan Longmuir and Stuart “Woody” Wood – have just begun a UK tour which will see them play seven dates including Blackpool Opera House tonight.
Les added: “We’ve realised after the success of the last couple of years it makes sense for this Christmas to be our last tour as a threesome. We’ve had some amazing times together but we want to remember those times favourably.
“It’s no secret that we’ve had our fall outs over time so let’s end this on a high with some fantastic shows this Christmas.”
The Rollers’ came to fame in the 70’s with a string of hits which are still loved by their army of fans to this day including Shang-a-lang, Remember and their cover of Four Seasons hit Bye Bye Baby.
Concert promoters Cuffe & Taylor are presenting the dates in Glasgow, London and Blackpool with the Blackpool date being the last concert.
