Blackpool soap star Lucy Fallon went back to school to say ‘thank you’ to a favourite teacher.
The young actress, who plays Bethany Platt in Coronation Street, attended Anchorsholme Primary School, when Hamish Clough worked there.
He’s now headteacher at Stanah Primary School in Lambs Road, Thornton, and it was as a sign of her gratitude to him that she attended their school fete – officially opening the event and getting stuck in with traditional fun and games.
After cutting the ribbon, Lucy, from Cleveleys, tried her hand at ‘hook a duck’ and the tombola, as well as joining the school’s Showstoppers choir to perform the song Cups from movie Pitch Perfect.
Mr Clough said: “Despite the weather, Stanah Primary School’s PTFA held their summer fete with parents, children and staff ran the event to support the school.
“The star of the event was Lucy Fallon who was given a warm Stanah welcome.”
Nineteen-year-old Lucy joined Coronation Street in February as teenage tearaway Bethany Platt, signing up initially for just six months.
It has been confirmed she will be staying on with a second six-month contract, and will also feature in a live episode of the ITV show in September.
