A Blackpool singer takes the leading role in Preston’s Christmas panto this year alongside comic legend Jimmy Cricket.
Kristina Castellina takes the title role in Snow White and The Magnificent Seven this festive season – and she’s certainly a convincing character.
The singer has told how the show has got her in the Christmas spirit, as well as seeing her confused for her on-stage alter ego, which she also played last year.
She said: “I’m in full-on Christmas mode, doing panto really starts the festive season off for me and it will be lovely, being so close to home, for my family to be able to come down and see the show.
“The little ones who come to the show are so lovely, and they really buy into the fact that I’m Snow White.
“I popped into town after a matinee once and they were running after me shouting Snow White!’ They literally think I’m her.”
She is joined by Jimmy Cricket, who plays Muddles, and the Magnificent Seven Dwarfs are an equally familiar set of faces who have made their names in a range of TV and film appearances.
The show opens on Tuesday and runs through to January 3, promising a festive treat “complete with a live band, beautiful costumes and spectacular sets not to mention a talented cast with years of experience.”
And this year’s spectacular set is the biggest the venue has had in more than five years.
