Hundreds of ex-professional skaters slid into Blackpool for a weekend’s reunion.
The former performers have appeared all over the world in top ice dance shows, including the resort’s own Hot Ice Show and its predecessor Showtime On Ice.
They last gathered in Blackpool 10 years ago, and made their return for a full weekend of entertainment and reminiscence.
More than 250 skaters attended, travelling from as far afield as Australia, Thailand, South America, across Europe, and the Americas.
They have appeared during the years in shows such as Holiday On Ice, Disney On Ice and Ice-Capades and many more.
After a welcome reception on Thursday, the group attended Friday night’s performance of Hot Ice Desire at the Pleasure Beach Arena – with the highly qualified audience granting this year’s cast with two standing ovations, at the end of each act of the show.
On Saturday, the visitors were joined by the cast of Desire for a gala evening in the Paradise Room, with the celebrations ending on Sunday night with a social night at Funny Girls.
Pleasure Beach managing director and Hot Ice producer Amanda Thompson, who hailed some of the visitors as ‘wonderful heroes of the ice, said: “It was wonderful to see so many faces from the past at the Arena for the skaters’ reunion.
“It was a great chance to reminisce and revisit old memories.
“Blackpool has such a rich skating heritage so it is fitting that such an event is held here.”
